verse 11 stuck out to me most, it says: "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him."
It just makes me sad that God has really tried over and over to get the attention of the people he created and we constantly ignore what he is saying. But on the other hand it gives me so much hope and comfort to know that God has gone through so much for us and has spent so much time pursuing us. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever". So if he loved his people enough back then to still come and die for them, even when he was rejected, he is the same now and I know that he loves me just as much now, even when I reject him. What person would put up with that kind of treatment. If they were constantly rejected and ignored by their friends any person would soon break off the friendship. But God is so different from us. His love is unconditional! How can I not love him back when he loves me SO much?
